CPB is focusing on how Facebook will receive permission from individual users to use their personal information and photos for commercial purposes, according to ZDNet, which added that CPB is authorized to regulate the social network due to its office in the country and the fact that it processes personal data from its citizens.
Facebook said in an email to Dutch newspaper NRC Next:
We are extremely surprised and disappointed in CBP’s investigation. We recently adjusted our terms of service and policy to make them more clear and concise, to display new product features and to clarify how people can control advertising (they see on the site).
