Facebook Integration Finally Included In Netflix Envelope

Netflix users can finally link their accounts to their Facebook profiles following a long battle in Washington, D.C., which resulted in last December’s overhaul of the 1988 Video Privacy Protection Act, which had previously prevented video-rental companies from sharing users’ viewing data.

Netflix users can finally link their accounts to their Facebook profiles following a long battle in Washington, D.C., which resulted in last December’s overhaul of the 1988 Video Privacy Protection Act, which had previously prevented video-rental companies from sharing users’ viewing data.

As a result of the integration with Facebook, announced by Netflix Wednesday, Netflix streaming users in the U.S. can now link their accounts to Facebook, with the option to share content they have viewed within Netflix and Facebook, and the ability to view content their friends have watched via “Friends’ Favorites” and “Watched By Your Friends” rows added to their Netflix accounts.
