Nestlé Drumstick Celebrates 1M Facebook Fans With Original Song & Video

Over the weekend Nestlé Drumstick hit the 1 million fan mark on their Facebook page and they’re celebrating with a musical ode to their fans. The music video, ‘The Drumstick Ode to One Million Fans,’ pays homage to their "one million strong," thanking fans from specific cities and states and even calling out specific fans by name and "raising a cone" to them.

Over the weekend Nestlé Drumstick hit the 1 million fan mark on their Facebook page and they’re celebrating with a musical ode to their fans.  The music video, ‘The Drumstick Ode to One Million Fans,’ pays homage to their “one million strong,” thanking fans from specific cities and states and even calling out specific fans by name and “raising a cone” to them.

A spokesperson told me via email, “While fan acquisition has not been the primary social media objective in 2012, our efforts to facilitate engagement has led to double-digit growth, especially over the summer months.”

Aside from really making me want to run out and grab a Nestlé Drumstick (despite the frigid weather), I think this video is an excellent example of a brand doing social media right.  Creating a buzz over this million fan milestone is sure to attract even more likes to the Nestlé Drumstick Facebook page, and the fact that they named specific fans in their song is a nice touch as well.

Nestlé joins a number of other brands that have launched campaigns thanking their Facebook fans.  Back in January, KLM celebrated 1 million fans with a video and last year, Honda launched an awesome campaign carving fan names in pumpkins for Halloween.

What do you think of the Nestlé video?  What are some of your favorite branded Facebook campaigns?  We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.
