If you haven’t seen “Nerd Prom: Inside Washington’s Wild Week” already, it’s about time you did. But even if you have, you probably haven’t seen this little gem.
Patrick Gavin, the movie’s director and former FBDC editor, dusted off some funny bonus footage of Sirius XM radio host and locally loved legend, Julie Mason, in which she talks about being professional and a grown up with getting ready before the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
“This year, I decided to get serious,” said Mason. “Every year, my hair looks like crap, my makeup is melting off my face, and my dress doesn’t work. So, this year I just decided ‘screw it, I’m gonna be an adult and a grown up and organized.'”
“Last year, I looked like a washer woman — I looked like someone who took in wash,” Mason continued. “I did. I looked like someone who spent the whole day over a bleach pot.”
Julie decided to go all out for WHCD. What’s your excuse?
