Nearly 25 Percent of Star Wars Talk on Facebook Had Negative Sentiment (Study)

While Star Wars: The Force Awakens was dubbed the most social film of the year, not all of the talk was about glowing reviews.

While Star Wars: The Force Awakens was dubbed the most social film of the year, not all of the talk was about glowing reviews.

New data from Fuel Intelligence (powered by DataSift), combing more than 600,000 interactions on Facebook, shows that 24 percent of the talk on Facebook about the film was negative; 67 percent was positive and 9 percent was neutral.

Fuel Intelligence also found:

  • The top five most active states were California, Texas, Washington, Florida and Illinois, with 25 percent of interactions coming from California alone
  • The top fan actor favorites were Harrison Ford, coming in first, followed by Daisy Ridley and John Boyega
