Neal Carruth Named General Manager of Podcasting at NPR
A new role for Carruth and the organization.
Neal Carruth gets a new role at NPR, as general manager of podcasting. This is a first of its kind role at NPR in which Carruth will be responsible for an expanding group of podcasts that currently includes Planet Money, Embedded, Hidden Brain, Code Switch, Pop Culture Happy Hour and the Politics podcast.
“He will support the teams working on those shows, strengthen connections between our podcast portfolio and the newsroom and member stations, and support innovation and new program development across NPR,” wrote NPR vp for programming and audience development Anya Grundmann and Chris Turpin, vp of news programming and operations, in a memo to staff.
