NBC to Use Fan Tweets in Emmy Telecast

NBC is planning to engage viewers during this Sunday’s (Aug. 29) broadcast of the The 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards as never before—by actually allowing fans to insert themselves into the show via Twitter.

Prior to and during the Emmy broadcast, viewers will be encouraged to tweet possible on-camera introductions of celebrity presenters—rather than the usual “this beautiful actress is the star of CBS’ The Good Wife.” Then, as the show unfolds host Jimmy Fallon will select several user-submitted tweets to be used on-air.
