National Journal Adds Pair of Journalists to ‘Next America’ Team

Jamila Robinson and Emily DeRuy join NJ's expanding editorial venture.

National Journal’s Next America is continuing to bolster its editorial venture with the additions of Jamila Robinson and Emily DeRuy, announced managing editor Juleyka Lantigua-Williams in a press release Tuesday.

“We are so happy that Jamila and Emily will join our team as we continue building out the Next America brand,” said Lantigua-Williams in the release. “They bring individual strengths in digital growth and reporting that will be integral to Next America as we expand and deepen our editorial efforts to cover the significant changes our country is undergoing.”

Robinson, formerly of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and DeRuy, who served as a reporter for the Fusion, ABC News-Univision joint venture, join the Next America team lead by Lantigua-Williams and Ronald Brownstein — which “explores the political, economic, and social impact of profound demographic and cultural change in the United States.”

In her new role as senior digital editor, Robinson will be responsible for Next America’s digital growth strategy; while DeRuy has been tapped to cover early childhood and major changes in education.
