National Geographic Photo Contest Winners Announced

National Geographic has announced the winners of its annual photo contest, and once again, the photos are slightly better than your Instagrams of half-full coffee mugs and wispy clouds.

Winners were selected for three categories: Nature, People and Places. Every entry — including the honorable mentions — is breathtakingly beautiful.

Above is the winner for Nature. The photo, by Nicole Cambré, captures a wildebeest jumping into a river bed in Tanzania. Brian Yen won for People and Triston Yeo won for Places.
