It’s not every day that a journalist can casually tweet a link to a post about the time they checked into the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) convention in Las Vegas and found a dead guy lying their hotel room.
But that’s the case this afternoon with Melissa Grego, the LA based executive editor of Broadcasting & Cable magazine, who re-tweeted her 2011 nightmare experience at the MGM Grand. While happily confirming that her 2012 NAB Vegas accomodations are CSI-free, she has also been exchanging some funny tweets with fellow journalists.
Grego told Alex Weprin, senior editor for our sister site TVNewser, that after the MGM Grotesque incident, she discovered to her dismay that dead bodies found by new guests in hotel rooms is not altogether uncommon. Meanwhile, David Douglas, a reporter for WISC-TV in Madison, WI, admitted this tops his Vegas walk-in episode:
For FishbowlLA, the only residual mystery is how Grego’s original B&C post managed to attract just one reader comment. She tweeted today that after checking in once again for NAB, she made sure there was no one rigor mortis-ing in the closet, behind doors or in the shower. A Vegas routine she will most likely be repeating until the time comes for her to permanently check out.
