NAB Tries to Block Sirius-XM Merger

satellite_radio_clipart.jpgNo one said they would just accept their fate and disappear, after all: the National Association of Broadcasters is now demanding that the FCC’s approval of the Sirius-XM satellite radio merger be postponed until certain documents are turned over by the agency, according to Engadget.

That’s despite the fact that the Justice Department just approved the merger, and that the FCC’s approval is all but certain at this point.

The article said that the NAB claims the requested paperwork shows “apparent wrongdoing” by Sirius and XM officials in including FM transmitters in radios and terrestrial repeaters; the organization met with FCC officials on Tuesday to make its claim.
