We’re not sure if there’s room on the internet at the moment for more new logo discussion, but while we’re on the topic, the social network MySpace quietly rolled out their newly redesigned logo late Friday at the Warm Gun design/tech conference in San Francisco. The new branding effort loses the three little people flanking its name, as well as their “a place for friends” tag, and instead takes a literal approach, with just a fill-in-the-blank space to indicate the “space” part. Also, “My” has made the transition over from Arial to Helvetica, indicating what we’re not sure (they’re more grown up? they’ve learned how terrible Arial is?). Tech Crunch was at the conference when the new logo was announced by the company’s VP of User Experience, Mike Macadaan, and has some video of the reveal as well as photos of its different iterations, possibly used for advertising (this part seems very inspired by Aol.‘s “something for everyone” rebranding effort last year). We’re staying out of giving our opinion on the new look and will let you talk it out in the comments. Like it? Hate it? Don’t care?
