MPA Restructures, Some Execs Out, Some In

The Magazine Publishers of America has announced the departures of two senior executives and the appointment of three, in moves intended to “more effectively serve the changing needs of its members as well as help them capitalize on advances in technology that have presented new opportunities for magazine media companies,” the MPA said.

Folio: reports that the MPA said that Richard O’Rorke, chief financial officer, was leaving to “spend more time with his family” and that Chuck McCullagh, senior vice president, membership, is “joining a technology company in the mobile space.” Both execs will leave by the end of September.

Meanwhile, Francis R. Costello, formerly president of a magazine printing company, was named executive vice president and general manager, a new position. Andrew Jung, a former Kellogg company advertising & media director, was named EVP and CMO, and Christopher Kevorkian, a magazine VP and publisher, was appointed EVP of digital.

Last, the MPA promoted Howard Polskin to EVP of communications and events.

Just ten months ago, the MPA eliminated 5 full-time positions, or 14 percent of its workforce.
