More Info About T-Mobile Wi-Fi Calling
T-Mobile has officially announced Wi-Fi Calling for Android, which they explicitly say will be available on the new T-Mobile myTouch and Motorola DEFY phones. The Wi-Fi Calling app will support phone calls and text messages and T-Mobile says it will be made available for more Android phones in the coming months. Boy Genius Report did some follow-up on the press release from T-Mobile and got the following clarifications:
- Wi-Fi calls will not hand-off calls between T-Mobile’s voice network and the Wi-fi network
- Wi-Fi calls are not made entirely over the Internet, they will go over T-Mobile’s voice network and use your T-Mobile calling minutes.
