In Monster.com’s earnings call yesterday, when the company announced a $10.3 million loss, CEO Sal Iannuzzi made the claim that Monster’s “declining less than the competition” and that instead of employers hedging their bets by spending their recruiting budget on two or three jobs sites, they’re taking it all to Monster.
Might have something to do with Monster’s site redesign, which launched in January, and which ERE.net said “seemed as useful to passive jobseekers on their way up the career ladder as the current one is to active job-seekers.” A job site that attracts the eyeballs of passive candidates is a valuable one, yet we’re not 100% convinced that employers are completely ignoring CareerBuilder, Hotjobs, Indeed, and more. In fact, color us solidly skeptical.
Yet still: have you used the new Monster, either as a job seeker or a job poster? How does it compare for you?
