Mo’ne Davis Named AP Female Athlete of The Year

Mo’ne Davis — a teenage pitcher who broke into the the national conversation by striking out batter after batter in the Little League World Series — has been named the Associated Press’s Female Athlete of The Year. At just 13 years old, she is the youngest recipient of the award ever.

Davis, who also appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated this year, has her jersey in baseball’s Hall of Fame and was named the Kid of The Year by Sports Illustrated Kids.

Davis loves baseball, but is focusing on basketball. Her dream is to attend UConn and one day play in the WNBA.
