Mobile Gaming Growth Stunted: Juniper

According to Juniper Research, mobile game sales have plateaued in both North America and Western Europe, which is now putting a damper on growth forecasts, MediaPost reports.

“The research firm had expected sales to reach $10 billion by 2013, up from $5.4 billion this year, but potential for growth is being dampened by a combination of companies exiting the mobile games space, and poor marketing of games.”

In addition, the study found that ad revenue is unlikely to be enough to provide both developers and wireless carrier decks with enough funding to press on in some cases, even as ad-funded downloads have become more popular, according to the report.
