When planning a trip or holiday, do you ever turn to Facebook or Twitter for research and advice?
If you’re aged 16-24, there’s a good chance that you do. Almost half (44 percent) of millennials in the United Kingdom have used social media to research and plan travel, compared to 18 percent of all internet users, reveals a new study conducted by the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA).
Indeed, millennials are more likely to use Facebook and Twitter for travel tips than they are an actual travel agent or guidebook. Social media finished tied second amongst millennials in the survey, behind recommendations from friends and family. For non-millennials, Google was the top source of travel info.
