Milbank's "Mouthpiece Theater" Beer Summit Video Gets the Hook from WaPo
After taking some heat from CJR, Media Matters, Talking Point Memo and other blogs, WaPo has yanked a certain episode of Dana Milbank and Chris Cillizza’s “Mouthpiece Theater.”
On the Friday following the White House beer summit, WaPo‘s funny boys offered up suggestions for what beers various politicians would drink, including “A Happy Ending” for David Vitter and “Triple X Porter” for Mark Sandford. But the crack that’s getting Milbank in trouble is: “We won’t tell you who’s getting a bottle of ‘Mad Bitch’ beer,” just as a picture of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton flashes on the screen.
No shame- they picked “Jackass Oatmeal Stout” for themselves.
The video, now removed, was originally featured on the paper’s website’s homepage. A WaPo spokesman tells Politico: “The video was a satirical piece that lampooned people of all stripes… There was a section of the video that went too far, so we have removed the piece from our website.”
