Microsoft Sets Quarterly Revenue Record, but Online Lags

Gaming division climbed 30 percent

Consumers may be drifting from the PC software that has long been core to Microsoft's business, but enterprise sales appear to be going strong.

Boosted by an appetite for the tech giant's business desktop products, the Redmond, Wash., company reported record quarterly and annual revenues on its earnings call Thursday.

Net income for the quarter jumped 30 percent to $5.87 billion, while revenue for the quarter climbed 8 percent to $17.37 billion, the company said.  For the fiscal year, which ended June 30, 2011 for Microsoft, the company reported revenue of $69.94
