Microsoft Recite is a free technology preview product. Since it is basically a product from a research project, it should not be considered a production product. Recite is a voice recorder with an interesting feature twist: You can search for recorded voice notes by speaking a word or phrase you are searching for. It performs pattern recognition rather than speech recognition. So, no training is necessary.

The latest release support the Windows Mobile Professional Edition’s touch screen interface. You can see Microsoft’s Russ Sanchez demonstrating the new touch interface above.

Check the list of supported Windows Mobile smartphones before downloading and installing Recite. I don’t see my HTC TyTn on the list. But, I’m planning to see if Recite runs on it anyway 🙂
