Sarah Iooss makes the move to Mic, where she’ll be executive vice president of revenue, heading up the sales team and leading an expansion of products and branded content.
Iooss joins after almost 15 years at Viacom, where she was most recently svp of business development. She started in ad sales for Spike TV and was later promoted to national sales director for Spike digital, followed by a series of VP and SVP positions within its ad sales division. Among Iooss’ achievements at Viacom is her role in securing a deal with Snapchat that expanded Viacom’s presence on the platform and gave Viacom rights to sell advertising for Snapchat.
“I’m a firm believer that consumers are looking for their social values to be reflected by the brands they interact with and support,” said Iooss in a statement. “I have followed Mic for some time with great admiration of how they help brands do exactly this. I’m thrilled to join this impressive team to help create impactful content and fuel even more important conversation amongst this powerful demographic of buyers.”
Mic president Jonathan Carson to whom Iooss will report, said, “Sarah’s creative and strategic approach to content, partnerships and communications is incredibly impressive and I couldn’t be more excited to welcome her to the Mic team, helping to deliver those important perspectives to our brand partners.”
