Suggesting stickers is just one of the things M does

M, the virtual digital assistant for Facebook Messenger, has arrived in Portugal and Brazil.

The initial suggestions that M will provide in the two countries follow, with screenshots depicting Portugal first, followed by Brazil:

  • Stickers: M shares sticker suggestions for “daily life interactions” such as “thank you” or “bye-bye.”

  • Location: M responds to friends asking where you are or users saying they on the way by suggesting that users share their locations in conversations on Messenger.

  • Polls: M enables Messenger users to create polls and vote in group conversations.

  • Birthdays: If a user is involved in a one-on-one conversation with a friend who is celebrating their birthday, M will prompt them to send birthday wishes in the form of stickers, text, cards or videos, all with “accompanying birthday art effects.”

  • Initiate call or video: If a participant in a one-on-one conversation expresses intent to make a call, M will suggest the launch of a voice or video call via Messenger.
