Megaupload Will Reboot Using New Zealand Domain, Founder Says

Kim Dotcom, the founder of Megaupload, will launch his replacement site on a New Zealand domain, he announced early this morning on Twitter. A pre-launch site is live at Mega.co.nz. Dotcom said the new website will be "powered by legality and protected by the law."

Kim Dotcom, the founder of Megaupload, will launch his replacement site on a New Zealand domain, he announced early this morning on Twitter.

Since Megaupload was shut down by U.S. law enforcement agents in January for copyright infringement, Dotcom has lived in New Zealand seeking to avoid extradition to the United States. Dotcom has said he will rebuild the site using methods that make it resistant to another takedown.
