Rodale has named Matt Bean editor in chief of Men’s Health.
Bean most recently served as Time Inc.’s senior vp of editorial innovation. He previously served as editor in chief of Entertainment Weekly and managing editor of Sports Illustrated Digital.
This is a return to Rodale and Men’s Health for Bean. He previously worked as Rodale’s vp of digital product development and Men’s Health’s brand and articles editor.
“Matt is truly a modern day editor, savvy across print, digital and social platforms, with a clear vision for the Men’s Health brand and a solid understanding of the business,” said Rodale chairman and CEO, Maria Rodale, in a statement. “Matt is the Men’s Health reader; his passion for and understanding of what men want and have come to expect from this brand is unparalleled. We are thrilled to have him back at Rodale.”
Bean’s appointment is effective Sept. 19.
