Martha Stewart’s launch of her Fall home wares line yesterday is the largest in Macy’s history. It is also a moment of intense reckoning for the media mogul, who, since her stint in the pokey, endured the failure of her short lived reality show ”The Apprentice: Martha Stewart.” From the Cincinnati Enquirer:
”Domestic diva Martha Stewart unveiled her new line of household products and ended her television show Monday with a shopping spree for the studio audience at the Macy’s Herald Square store in New York.
”… Footage from the excursion – audience members were loaded onto buses at the end of the show – will air on the ‘Martha Stewart Show’ today and be shown on the Macy’s Jumbotron in Herald Square from 1 to 2 p.m. today.”
Morgan Stanley analyst Lisa Monaco noted last month that Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia stock will probably not move significantly until her make-or-break Macy’s home wares line demonstrates some success.
At post time shares of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia were up 2.45 percent.
