Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia is changing the name of their health and lifestyle publication from Body + Soul to Whole Living in order to tie it more closely to its website and daily radio show.
The new name will appear on the magazine’s June issue, which will also include the tagline “Your Life in Balance.” The renamed magazine will feature a new design (everybody’s doin’ it!) which will showcase its “broader editorial content and richer storytelling.”
“Whole Living” has been the name of the magazine’s website since 2008, as well as the name of its daily Sirius/XM radio show.
Vice president and editor in chief Alex Postman told attendees at a cross-platform upfront event the name change will be reflective of a more seamless relationship across the brand’s platforms:
Capitalizing on the strength of the ‘whole living’ aspect of our brand as we continue to evolve feels appropriate. We will remain true to our core pillars and beliefs while striking a more casual tone of enjoyment. […] And the interplay between the magazine and the Web site will be fundamental once we finally unify all of the platforms under one name.
Body + Soul has increased its readership by 200 percent over five years, and WholeLiving.com’s traffic has grown 120 percent in the span of one year.
