Facebook chief operating officer Sheryl Sandberg visited India in July, and now it’s co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s turn, as The Times of India reported that Zuckerberg will speak at the Internet.org summit in New Delhi Oct. 9 and 10.
Zuckerberg will also meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to The Times of India, as well as with members of other ministries in the country’s government. Zuckerberg and Modi are expected to discuss how the social network and the administration can boost the efforts by Internet.org to connect everyone to the Internet.
Market researcher eMarketer projected that Facebook will reach 108.9 million users in India by year-end, up from 77.8 million in 2013.
