Mark Zuckerberg: Facebook Will Expand Use of Safety Check

Facebook's CEO responded to questions about why the social network’s Safety Check feature was turned on after Friday’s terrorist attacks in Paris, but not after similar incidents in other places.

Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg responded to questions about why the social network’s Safety Check feature was turned on after Friday’s terrorist attacks in Paris, but not after similar incidents in other places.

Zuckerberg wrote in a comment accompanying his temporary profile picture showing support for France:

Until yesterday, our policy was only to activate Safety Check for natural disasters.
