Last September, Youtoo launched as the world’s first social TV network that literally puts fans on TV. Youtoo’s technology enables viewers to upload a video of themselves and actually be on television, on the Youtoo network, within minutes. This week Producer Mark Burnett, whose franchises include Survivor, The Apprentice & The Voice announced that his company One Three Television LLC has taken an ownership interest in the social TV network and is seeking to integrate the technology into One Three Television LLC series.
Burnett says in a press release, “I’m excited to find opportunities to deepen our audiences’ connection with our shows through Youtoo’s amazing technology.” Thanks to Youtoo, viewers of One Three Television LLC that integrate the technology will be able “to be on TV, to share their reactions to show content with other viewers, and to play along with the programs.”
Cory Bergman of Lost Remote points out that “Burnett is a big-time believer in social TV. Back in December, Burnett announced a deal with ACTV8 to power second-screen apps for his shows. Earlier this month the first app launched, tied to Celebrity Apprentice.”
Youtoo CEO, Chris Wyatt, says, “We created the technology to license to broadcasters but had no idea that there’d be such great demand for our social TV and gaming systems right at launch.”
It will certainly be interesting to see how Burnett will incorporate Youtoo technology into One Three Television LLC productions. What are your thoughts on this announcement?
