MapQuest Free iPhone Basic Voice Navigation App a Sales Pitch for the 99 Cent Version?

Before Google Maps, Yahoo! Maps, and various versions of Microsoft’s web maps, there was MapQuest. It was, I believe, the first web based amp service I used. It was for many years (“many” relative to Internet time). I’m not sure who their target audience is these days with a wide variety of better known competitors available.
