A total of 21 of the Fortune 50 companies have left their Facebook Community Pages untouched, according to a study by B.L. Ochman for AdAge.

The other 29 members of the Fortune 50 have official Facebook pages, but the unedited Facebook Community Pages of the 21 companies contain only Wikipedia information and unmonitored posts by Facebook users.

Ochman cited Valero Energy, Boeing, and Wellpoint as examples.

She wrote that in the event of an oil spill, the lack of oversight on the Valero Community Page could leave the company vulnerable to a public-relations fiasco.

As for Boeing, the company has a Community Page with 692 likes and an official page with 46,040 likes, but the latter has no company information on its info page and a spam-filled wall.

Wellpoint also has a Community Page and an official page, with 517 and 218 likes, respectively, but no wall posts.
