There’s just one more day left to catch the first international exhibit of Lorraine Loots’ fascinating thumbnail-size paintings. Her one-week run at Three Kings Studio in Brooklyn ends July 15.
As Loots told News24 interviewer Jerusha Sukhdeo-Raath this week via Skype, she had no idea there were “so many South Africans in Brooklyn.” Loots first gained attention for her miniatures via Instagram and except for ten originals made especially for the New York event, all 700+ framed pieces are prints of her originals, all now sold.
Loots’ July 8-15 show has also garnered coverage in the U.S. from CBS This Morning and Architectural Digest. Her original sets of miniature paintings, originally priced at $40/per, wound up going for as high as $1,000 each.
