LivingSocial Adventures Launches in 30 Markets Custom-Produced Social Events

LivingSocial Adventures plan is to bring together a number of merchants to offer fully customized and uniquely enjoyable experiences ranging from river tubing and beer tasting excursions to sushi-making classes to Summer Camp for "Grown-Ups".

LivingSocial, launched LivingSocial Adventures, a local commerce category that creates and produces fully-curated social events. The events are personally guided by LivingSocial Adventures employees. Members are encouraged to make new friends while taking advantage of what the events have to offer.

The plan is to bring together a number of merchants to offer fully customized and uniquely enjoyable experiences ranging from river tubing and beer tasting excursions to sushi-making classes to Summer Camp for “Grown-Ups”.

I wonder if this is something people will want to do because it is a unique program that I have seen social clubs or YMCAs offer. But, I have yet to see a social media platform offer adventures. “Our passion for adventure combined with the reach of LivingSocial allows us to bring exciting, one-of-a-kind guided experiences you could never arrange on your own to even more people throughout the world,” Maia Josebachvili, Global Director, explains.

LivingSocial Adventures is now available in 30 Markets throughout the U.S., Canada and the U.K.

Such adventures include jet skiing tour of the Statue of Liberty, Skydiving, Dave Matthews Concert and more.

It will be interesting to see show LivingSocial Adventures fares in the various continents. But,I don’t see it as a social media activity per se, but more of a social activity.
