On April 14, LinkedIn will retire its Products & Services tab on Company Pages. According to the announcement, the goal is to focus on “creating a platform where companies can deliver timely, engaging content to our members. Sometimes, this means we need to remove a feature to focus on areas of the product that most benefit both companies and our members.”
For now, companies can edit the products and services currently displayed on those tabs, but none can be added. However, after the 14th, businesses are encouraged to use the Company Pages or Showcase Pages for promoting their products and services.
The Company Pages send updates directly to the feeds of followers and is still an ideal place for sharing content about business offerings. The other benefit of using Company Pages is the ability to embed video and direct followers to dedicated landing pages. This is a great way for businesses to send timely updates to their followers on LinkedIn.
The Showcase Pages, on the other hand, are just that: a place to showcase a particular product line and build engagement around that product. While the Showcase Pages are more focused on a specific product or brand, they offer the same benefits as a Company Page in terms of sharing news and updates about the product.
