Lent Is Not Funny Business for CNBC’s Jane Wells

CNBCJaneWells.jpgJane, we here at WebNewser aren’t laughing at you, we’re laughing with you. We’ve been there.

Jane Wells
, business reporter for CNBC and writer of its Funny Business blog, lost her battle with the resolution she made for Lent in just 41 hours, and she chronicled the entire battle on her Twitter account.

Here’s the play-by-play:

In pre-Lenten hysteria I’m going w/out caffeine/alcohol/dairy/refined this week. Stay clear, it’ll be ugly. Spent fortune at Whole Foods.

Day 1 no caffeine. Miserable.

No coffee. No booze. I’m at Lassen’s Nat. Foods. “I’ll have a plate of alfalfa sprouts & a side of mashed yeast”–Alvy Singer “Annie Hall”

@aileenmarkowsky @pattyedwards Day 2. Not sure I can last til the weekend.

No caffeine/alcohol/dairy/refined makes my tweets REALLY BORING. Pretty soon I’ll be talking about bid-asks on Alcoa.

@debsmith doing no sugar and no dairy. made my own bread. i hate myself.

Ok. I’m done. I can’t take it. Gonna have a Jersey Mike’s sub and a beer. Tomorrow: coffee. My 5-day healthy eating plan lasted 41 hrs.
