LEGO Harry Potter Forced to Wait for iOS 4.2 to Run on iPads

The wait is over for the movie Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Part I. It reportedly pulled in $125.1 million in ticket sales in its openning weekend and to generally good reviews. However, if you were planning to play the new $4.99 LEGO Harry Potter game on your iPad, you will have to wait for iOS 4.2.

LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 (iTunes App Store)

Its App Store description clearly warns iPad owners that although the game is listed as a Univeral app that runs on both the iPhone and iPad, it specifically requires the as yet unreleased iOS 4.2 update. It will not sync to an iPad until the iOS 4.2 update is installed.

So, when will the iOS 4.2 update become available? Rumors indicate sometime this week.
