Current TV journalists Laura Ling and Euna Lee just arrived safely back in the United States, in Burbank, CA. Their release from North Korea was negotiated by former President Bill Clinton yesterday. He accompanied the women home today and released this statement by email: “I am very happy that after this long ordeal, Laura Ling and Euna Lee are now home and reunited with their loved ones.”
Ling and Lee are speaking now in the airport hanger and we hear we may hear from President Obama at the White House this morning. The President the journos’ families last night to “express his relief that they will be reunited shortly,” according to White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs.
Current TV was co-founded by former Vice President Al Gore and he is also there for their arrival.
