Layoffs At RISD's Museum
The Rhode Island School of Design’s Museum Of Art will close for the month of August and 20 staffers will lose their jobs through a combination of buyouts and layoffs, UnBeige reports. Despite big attendance numbers, the museum’s endowment portfolio has nosedived—losing a million dollars in earned interest in just one fiscal year.
The museum has already bid goodbye to 14 employees, for a total of 34 layoffs when all’s said and done.
