LAT Magazine to publish fiction (!)

Here’s an odd and welcome bit of news– according to author Frances Dinkelspiel, incoming LAT Magazine editor Rick Wartzman plans to publish short fiction in each issue– at a time when short fiction is becoming scarcer and scarcer in magazines and, as far as I can tell, not regularly featured in any newspaper Sunday magazine insert. In fact, he’s hired author Amy Tan as the magazine’s fiction editor.
