Claudia Nuñez, a reporter with La Opinión in Los Angeles, was one of 12 selected this year to receive Stanford University’s prestigious Knight Fellowship. After 46 years with a more traditional journalism focus, the program is reinventing itself to involve journalism innovation, entrepreneurship and leadership. Knight fellows receive a $60,000 stipend, a scholarship to Stanford as well as a supplemental housing subsidy. Nice.
Nuñez was LA’s sole recipient and will use her time to “create an online platform that connects statisticians with ethnic media journalists to develop custom reports.”
