LA Filming Is Up Big So Far in 2011

The year isn’t that far along, but 2011 has already brought some kinda, sorta good news for LA’s film industry. Local filming is up 4.7% in the first quarter. That’s obviously the good news for a city that has been bleeding production jobs, as states like Louisiana have offered lucrative tax breaks to lure in the film industry. The state offers 35% tax deductions for filming expenses, while California only offers 25%, and doesn’t allow big budget pictures to write anything off.
