KPCC Education Reporter Shifting to AP Law Enforcement Beat

There are long-lead job changes. And then there are really long-lead job change announcements.

This afternoon, Associated Press West Region editor Traci Carl announced that KPCC education reporter Tami Abdollah (pictured) will be rejoining the wire service… on January 7, to cover Los Angeles law enforcement. Abdollah previously worked for AP in Salem, Oregon after a three-year stint with the LA Times:

“We are excited to have Tami join us in Los Angeles,” Carl said. “She is a tireless reporter who will keep AP ahead on an important beat.”

The exit of education reporter Abdollah is the latest of several recent female staffing changes at the Pasadena Southern California Public Radio station, following the departure of Madeleine Brand and the discontinuation of Patt Morrison’s program.
