Fox News political analyst Kirsten Powers joins CNN in the same role, announced CNN Worldwide president Jeff Zucker.
Powers, who is also a contributor for USA Today, will remain in that role as well.
Powers was a former political operative who had worked in communications/media roles in the Clinton administration for the U.S. Trade Representative as well as on the New York State Democratic committee. As a Fox News analyst, Powers was often a lone voice of the left among right-leaning commentators, but could be a critic of the left as well, as in her book, The Silencing: How the Left is Killing Free Speech.
Powers starts today with an appearance on Anderson Cooper 360.
