Kindle For PC Update Adds Support for KF8

If you’ve been wanting to see the new Epub-like KF8 format, here’s your chance. Amazon rolled out an update today for K4PC. It’s not mentioned anywhere publicly, but this update adds support for KF8 ebooks.

Amazon first announced this new format last fall, and they’ve been teasing us ever since with dreams of prettier eBooks. KF8 was finally released to the public in January, and it’s been fun to play with ever since.

Previously only the Kindle Fire supported the new content, but Amazon had promised to add support to all the other apps and Kindles. I’ve installed the update, and I can confirm it works. The KF8 demo files I posted over here work just fine. They look like Epubs (that’s what they’re made from, btw).
