Say hello to Kelly O’Donnell, NBC’s Capitol Hill correspondent. Prior to moving to the Hill, Kelly was a White House correspondent and most recently covered John McCain’s presidential campaign.

What does your morning reading list include? NYT, Wash Post, First Read, Playbook, Politico, Roll Call, etc.

What single person has played the biggest role or has had the biggest influence on your career? My Dad who has encouraged me from the first school book report to my most recent Nightly News piece.

How many suits do you own? About 20 and of course, “nothing to wear.”

What is the name of your cell phone ring? Don’t know what my ring tone is called, but Elisabeth Bumiller’s Calypso ring is a favorite.

How many emails do you receive a day? How many do you answer? A few hundred. A few dozen.

What catches your eye in an email subject line? Urgent or Evite

Where do you power-lunch? These days, the House cafeteria

What’s your favorite or go-to drink? Diet Coke

Who is your favorite active journalist? Terrence Hunt of AP

What section of the Sunday Washington Post do you read first? No diversions, the front section

If you ran a doctor’s office or a bank, what cable news station would you have on in your waiting room or lobby? This is a gimme, MSNBC

What kind of dog should the Obamas get and what should they name their new pet? A Portuguese Water Dog as Sen. Kennedy suggested and I’d pick “Penny” since Abe Lincoln is on that coin.

Who would you most enjoy seeing parodied on SNL? SNL’s take on Vice President Biden is my current favorite… perhaps they’ll try Robert Gibbs or Secretary Geithner
