KDOC-TV Pulls Plug on "Daybreak OC"

KDOC-TV, which partnered with the Orange County Register for its news and business operations, laid off about 24 people and pulled the plug on its morning show after only 13 months.

The Reg reports: “Daybreak OC on KDOC-TV was canceled without fanfare today because the deteriorating economy — particularly the sagging advertising market — made the show too expensive to produce, said Bert Ellis, owner of the station.

Saddest part of the story?

“Instead of Daybreak OC, KDOC will air Matlock.”
