Kate Lanphear Named Creative Director of Marie Claire

Former Google consultant joins Hearst title

Kate Lanphear has been named creative director of Hearst Magazines’ Marie Claire, replacing Nina Garcia who was recently named editor in chief of Elle.

“Kate is one of the most creative, stylish, sought-after talents in fashion today,” said Marie Claire editor in chief Anne Fulenwider, announcing the hire. “Her discerning eye for smart style will help us continue to create extraordinary content for our readers.”

Lanphear joins from Google’s Arts and Culture division where she was working to develop a fashion portal.
