WWD tipped the news of Vogue Paris’ next annual guest-editor and on Thanksgiving Day, provided additional details. The December/January issue of Vogue Paris was fashioned by Karl Lagerfeld’s gloved hands.
Lagerfeld, 83, was photographed for the black-and-white cover with Johnny Depp’s daughter Lily-Rose by Hedi Slimane, who until this spring was working for Yves Saint Laurent. The magazine’s deputy editor in chief Olivier Lalanne has nothing but high praise for Lagerfeld:
“Very articulate, very focused and quick—and with so much wit,” marveled Lalanne, deputy. “He was one of the easiest to work with, and we all had so much fun. He’s deep and light at the same time.”
The identity of the person who interviewed Lagerfeld for a feature article is being kept under wraps until the December/January issue hits newsstands Dec. 5. And yes, Lagerfeld’s cat Choupette makes an appearance in the issue’s pages.
