Kanye West Flouts New York Fashion Week Protocol

As a result, designer Anne Bowen is "completely devastated, angered and bewildered."

A Sept. 10 Page Six report is how Steven Kolb, president of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), first found out that Kanye West was planning a New York Fashion Week show this Wednesday for the rapper’s X Adidas Originals Collection. Definitely not the way he prefers to be made aware of such things.

Meanwhile, once the West/Adidas show was officially confirmed Saturday, designer Anne Bowen was forced to scramble and reschedule her long-in-the-works NYFW Sept. 16 lunchtime plans, so as to avoid conflicting with Yeezus. Here’s how she expressed her frustrations to WWD’s Lisa Lockwood:

“Kanye knows he is a media sensation and it is just not ethical to do this. It’s like we are David and he is Goliath. We have put our heart and soul into our show, and should not be stepped on like this.”

The story is being picked up nationally and overseas. Definitely not the shine Adidas was hoping for. Bowen told Fox News she has filed an official complaint with the CFDA.
